MINISFORUM UM890 Pro starts globally from $479 with overclocked AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS, OCuLink and up to 64 GB RAM
Less than a fortnight has elapsed since MINISFORUM first launched its UM880 and UM890 Pro mini-PCs, the latter of which is a successor to the UM790 Pro (curr. $739.90 on Amazon). To recap, the company equips both mini-PCs with AMD Hawk Point APUs rather than their forthcoming Strix Point successors. Nonetheless, the Ryzen 9 7940HS and Ryzen 9 8945HS remain powerful options, particularly with 70 W TDPs, a 29.6% overclock on their default 54 W TDP.
Unfortunately, MINISFORUM only announced the new UM880 and UM890 Pro in China. While that remains true for the UM880 Pro, MINISFORUM has now released the UM890 Pro globally. At the time of writing, the company offers the mini-PC in three forms, all with a Ryzen 9 8945HS APU.
Specifically, the UM890 Pro starts at $479 as a barebones unit. Alternatively, MINISFORUM has priced 32 GB and 64 GB of RAM variants for $649 and $729, respectively, both with 1 TB of storage. Please note that all configurations ship with a pair of M.2 2280 slots for SSDs, an M.2 2230 slot for modems and the following ports:
- 1x 3.5 mm Jack
- 1x Clear CMOS
- 1x DisplayPort
- 1x DMIC
- 1x HDMI
- 1x OCuLink
- 2x RJ45 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet
- 4x USB 3.2 Type-A
- 1x USB4 (DisplayPort Alt Mode)
