AOC AGON AG344UXM: 34-inch ultra-wide gaming monitor announced with mini-LED backlights and VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification
AOC has revealed a new ultra-wide gaming monitor in China. Billed as the AGON AG344UXM, the 34-inch monitor has mini-LED backlights and a high refresh rate panel. Specifically, the AGON AG344UXM offers a 3,440 x 1,440-pixel native resolution built around an IPS panel. AOC claims that the gaming monitor has a 170 Hz refresh rate too, along with 1 ms GtG response times.
Additionally, the AGON AG344UXM contains 1,152 local dimming zones and has VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification. As such, the gaming monitor peaks at 1000 cd/m² and supports 10-bit image processing. Please note that the 1,000 cd/m² peak luminosity only applies when viewing HDR content. Typically, the monitor offers up to 600 cd/m² in SDR content. AOC asserts that the AGON AG344UXM has 97% DCI-P3 colour space coverage too, along with a 1,000:1 contrast ratio and factory colour calibration.
Moreover, the AGON AG344UXM has several ports, including DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1 and USB Type-C with DP Alt mode. Also, the gaming monitor includes dual 8 W speakers, a KVM switch and AOC's AGON logo projector. AOC has not announced how much the AGON AG344UXM costs in China, nor when it will be available. Hence, it could be a few months before AGON releases the AG344UXM globally.
