A lifesaver in the heat and when your smartphone battery is dead: Cuktech CP Turbo Fan Plus review

The Cuktech CP Turbo Fan Plus combines a handheld fan and a power bank in a single device. The fan function, with three speed settings plus a “Boost” mode, does exactly what it’s supposed to: move air at varying speeds to provide a refreshing breeze. However, the device is quite loud when in use. The power bank function, on the other hand, is very basic. It has only one USB-C port and no display or built-in USB cable, unlike many other power banks.

Weighing just under 310 g, the Cuktech CP Turbo Fan Plus is heavier than some other handheld fans on the market. However, with 10,000 mAh, it also offers a significantly larger battery capacity than many competitors. If you’re just looking for a handy way to cool off on hot days, other devices are lighter and more affordable. On the other hand, if you find the combination of a mini fan and a simple power bank practical, the Cuktech CP Turbo Fan Plus is a good choice.

With the Cuktech CP Turbo Fan Plus, the manufacturer—known for its power banks and chargers—offers a 2-in-1 product. In addition to a 10K power bank, it also features a built-in mini fan. Our review reveals whether the device is helpful not only when your smartphone runs out of battery but also in hot weather.

The Cuktech CP Turbo Fan Plus combines a 10,000 mAh power bank with a handheld fan. The upper section, which is detachable and attaches magnetically to the power bank’s handle, is equipped with a mini fan measuring just under 3.5 cm in diameter. This fan can be switched between three speed settings using the button on the power bank or the fan attachment. Pressing the button a fourth time or holding it down turns the fan off. Additionally, pressing the button twice activates the even faster (and louder) Boost mode.

The battery, along with a button and a USB-C port for charging and discharging, is built into the grip. The 10,000 mAh capacity—achieved by two 5,000 mAh battery cells—refers only to the battery’s total capacity. The rated capacity available via USB-C is significantly lower at 5,800 mAh (5V/2A); the specified battery energy is 36 Wh. The maximum discharge power is rated at 33 W, and the charging power at up to 27 W. More on this below.

The fan and power bank together measure approximately 15.5 x 7.5 x 4.5 cm and weigh just under 310 g. This is heavier than many other handheld fans on the market, though those typically offer less battery capacity and no power bank function. The battery pack alone measures about 10.5 x 5 x 2.5 cm and weighs a good 220 g, which is a reasonable weight for a simple 10K power bank.

In addition to the fan attachment and the power bank handle, the package also includes a wrist strap that can be threaded through two holes above the button on the handpiece, as well as a user manual in several languages (including English and German).

In practice, the main function of the Cuktech CP Turbo Fan Plus is undoubtedly that of a mini fan. With its airflow adjustable to three levels plus a boost setting, it can provide some refreshment on hot days. Ultimately, however, it’s the same as with any fan: it simply creates air movement that feels like a breeze, which provides localized cooling on the skin but does not cool the room itself.

As a power bank, its capabilities are limited. It has only one USB-C port, which is also used to charge the battery. Additionally, it provides a maximum of 33 W, which is sufficient for quickly charging smartphones and other smaller USB devices.

What we found somewhat lacking was a small display. As a result, there’s no precise indication of the remaining battery capacity or the remaining runtime. At least a small LED indicates the approximate remaining battery charge at the press of a button through different colors (green, yellow, red) as well as by lighting up or flashing.

One practical feature is that the fan, which attaches quite firmly via magnets, can be detached from the power bank, which serves as a handle. This allows you to take just the power bank with you if needed. However, we would also have liked to see a cover for the top of the power bank. When the mini fan is not attached and the handle is being used as the power bank, the four contacts are exposed. This isn’t dangerous in terms of electric shock. But a small rubber cover would protect the pins from damage and dirt. The same applies to the USB-C port, which could also get dirty in a handbag or pants pocket without a cover.

A key factor in the test is runtime. The mini fan ran for about 4 hours and 15 minutes on the third speed setting until the previously fully charged battery was depleted. In Boost mode, the runtime is significantly shorter; on the lower settings, it’s much longer. Thus, the Cuktech CP Turbo Fan Plus offers more than enough endurance to provide cooling relief during the hot midday hours—and, when running at reduced power, even throughout the entire day.

In our practical test, the 10,000 mAh power bank was able to fully charge an iPhone 16 Pro approximately twice via the USB-C port. During this process, approximately 27 Wh flowed from the power bank at about 5 V. In practice, it therefore offers significantly less capacity than the advertised 10,000 mAh, as we explained in this article.

When used with a high-performance laptop, the compact power bank—with its maximum output of 33 W—quickly reaches its limits. However, even a battery that has been half-drained by the fan is sufficient to recharge a dead smartphone in an emergency. It took just under three hours to charge the power bank. During this time, just over 38 Wh flowed through the USB-C meter. We didn’t quite reach the 27 W specified by the manufacturer, but we came close.

We’d also like to briefly address the noise level of the mini fan. After all, when using the device, you usually hold it quite close to your face—and thus also near your ears. At the lowest setting, we measured just over 50 dB from a distance of 50 cm; at the third setting, just over 70 dB; and in Boost mode, even over 75 dB. This means that the Cuktech CP Turbo Fan Plus is anything but quiet, especially at higher speeds—when it reaches up to 30,000 revolutions per minute—and is not far off from a large hair dryer. It’s fine for a quick refresh, but can be quite disruptive during extended use, particularly in quiet environments.
