As a result, the 65-inch Hisense 65U8QG is now only $859.99 on Amazon. Camelcamelcamel lists this price as the lowest ever for the TV. In other words, this is the best time to get the Hisense U8. Fortunately, the Hisense U8 punches well above its weight according to Rtings.
Hisense 65U8QG earned an 8.4 rating from Rtings
With a “Mixed Usage” rating of 8.4 from Rtings, the Hisense U8 presents an exceptional value proposition at the current sales price. Rtings reports that the TV gets super bright in both SDR and HDR. In SDR, the TV reportedly hits a Real Scene Peak Brightness of 944 nits. The HDR brightness can top 4,300 nits on a 10% Window, making highlights pop.
The Hisense U8QG pairs the elevated brightness with near-perfect blacks with local dimming, and superb color reproduction. Rtings measured a 95% DCI-P3 coverage in SDR with incredible color volume in HDR. The TV also seems to perform quite well when it comes to low-quality content smoothing and upscaling.
Finally, the 65-inch Hisense U8 will also serve as a potent gaming display for both console and PC gamers. It fully supports the Xbox Series consoles and the Sony PS5. Additionally, the TV supports AMD FreeSync/Nvidia G-Sync VRR technologies, features a native 165 Hz refresh rate, boasts low input lag, and quick response times.
Rtings’ only real criticisms of the Hisense 65U8QG were the limited viewing angles of the VA panel and direct reflections from bright light sources. If you want a TV for a big living area with lots of lights, it might be better to look at OLED TVs with good viewing angles and better reflection handling.
All of this said, the 65-inch Hisense U8 is an incredible TV for the $859.99 asking price. You’d be hard-pressed to find a better deal right now.
