Porsche has revealed the 2026 edition of the Macan EV, with a bunch of improvements over the predecessor, which the automaker boasts takes the ownership experience “to a new level.”
The new electric Porsche Macan Electric now features a digital key fob, similar to those found in Teslas, which it has named Porsche Digital Key. The feature enables owners to control their car remotely through their smartphone or smartwatch, including the ability to open and close the doors.
The update brings another Tesla-esque feature: in-car gaming. AirConsole allows riders to play video games while the vehicle is parked or charging, featuring titles from publishers such as Gameloft and Obscure Interactive. The system also offers music and video streaming, along with the option to use third-party apps.
Customers can now optionally upgrade to 3D Surround View for a 360-degree view of the SUV’s exterior. In addition, the AI voice assistant has been enhanced to handle more complex queries.
Porsche states the 2026 Macan Electric can be trained to park itself in owner-specified spots. The automobile can also back itself into the garage or workspace thanks to Reverse Assist. Drivers will also see obstacles below their line of sight on the central display with the assistance of exterior cameras.
The latest Porsche can now tow a greater load, with a maximum of 5,500 lbs for the all-wheel drive variant.
Porsche has opened the order books for the 2026 model year at a starting price of $78,000, with deliveries in the US slated for spring in 2026.
