Walmart is currently selling its in-house EVOO brand subnotebook for $210 USD off the original launch price of $560. It's an already cheap laptop that's now even cheaper to reach buyers in need of a no-frills Windows 10 system.
The deal is notable for several reasons. Firstly, its AMD Ryzen 5 3500U CPU is actually very fast relative to other subnotebooks in this price range where Celeron, Atom, and Pentium processors are common. It may be an older CPU, but overall performance is generally on par with an 8th gen or 9th gen Intel Core i7 U-series CPU like the i7-8550U. Secondly, the chassis incorporates plenty of ports and a modern narrow bezel design to be lighter, smaller, and more versatile than many other budget subnotebooks especially when traveling.
The main disadvantages of the deal are its limited 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB SSD. We can't confirm if the RAM is expandable since we've yet to personally review the model. Additionally, the 1080p display will likely have limited sRGB coverage and brightness to make it unsuitable for graphics editing or bright outdoor conditions. For standard web browsing or word processing, however, these limitations shouldn't be huge deal breakers.
