In a pretty bold move against creeping censorship, GOG is giving away 13 adult-themed titles for free over 48 hours. The campaign's primary purpose is to bring attention to how legal, controversial games are disappearing from stores - not because they’re illegal, but because someone decided they shouldn’t exist.

Some of these games are comedic, some erotic, and others are just edgy. They all have one thing in common though - they have recently become targets of platform delistings. Earlier in July, developers reported mass removals on Steam and Itch.io, following pressure from Australian activist group Collective Shout. But the real lever pulling content down is coming from payment giants like Visa and Mastercard. When they start flagging content as problematic, stores and devs will lose the ability to earn - even on legal content.
GOG’s bundle, in this case, is a clear act of defiance. All titles are DRM-free and tied to your library forever once claimed. A note on the redemption page states: "Censorship is quietly deciding which games you can buy. We are fighting back."
Just to be clear, this isn’t about promoting NSFW content - it’s more about defending the right to buy legal games. If payment processors get to decide what you are allowed to access, it won’t stop at dating sims or offensive comedy. Tomorrow it could be political games, niche queer stories, or anything that makes someone uncomfortable.
