The FusionDock Max 2 is a new Thunderbolt 5 docking station designed for Apple Silicon MacBooks. It offers 23 ports for serious productivity, including three Thunderbolt 5 and five USB-C ports, as well as native support for up to three high-resolution external displays.

iVanky has launched a new Thunderbolt 5 docking station designed for creative pros and serious multitaskers. The FusionDock Max 2 arrives with more connectivity options than the Anker Prime Docking Station and the CalDigit TS5, while coming in at a similar price.

Buyers can purchase the FusionDock Max 2 at Amazon for $399.99. Using the code PRIORITY10 brings the price down to $366.98, making it more affordable than the competition. However, unlike the FusionDock Pro 3 from earlier this year, this model is built specifically for Apple Silicon MacBooks (and Mac Studio/Mac mini), and it's not compatible with Intel-powered Macs or Windows machines.

iVanky FusionDock Max 2 key features

Unlike most Thunderbolt 5 docks, the FusionDock Max 2 connects to the host using two Thunderbolt 5 ports. In return, it offers 23 ports of connectivity, including three downstream Thunderbolt 5 ports for external monitors, SSDs, and other high-speed devices. It also has an HDMI 2.0 port, five 10 Gbps USB-C ports, one 10 Gbps USB-A port, three 5 Gbps USB-A ports, three USB 2.0 ports, dual 3.5 mm audio jacks, optical audio, a 2.5 Gbps LAN port, and SD/TF 4.0 slots.

It’s worth noting that while the dock supports triple-monitor output, only MacBook models with M1 Max, M2 Max, or M3 Max chips can drive three external displays. MacBooks with Apple Pro chips (and the base M4) are limited to dual 6K displays at 60 Hz, while base M1, M2, and M3 models can still output only a single external display up to 6K at 60 Hz.

On the power front, it can deliver up to 140 W to the host, enough to charge a 16-inch MacBook Pro with M4 Max, plus 30 W via USB-C to juice up phones or other accessories. The dock comes in an aluminum enclosure with a floating design and a built-in fan to help it stay cool even under heavy use.

The iVanky FusionDock Max 2 is available now at an introductory price of $366.98 with the code PRIORITY10 on Amazon.
