iQOO has confirmed that it will launch at least one smartphone based on the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 top-end processor. Now, according to the latest leaks and rumors, these devices will be called the 9 and 9 Pro, and will come with re-worked rear panels and new display specs. One or both may also have a 50MP main camera.

Update: iQOO has just confirmed some of the latest leaks connected to its latest flagship phones. It has released a teaser posted by the tipster Bald Panda (below) along with the official reveal of its new partnership with KPL.

Meanwhile, the devices in question have also leaked out again thanks to a new advance sales listing on Tmall, indicating that the iQOO 9 series is slated to go to pre-sale on January 1, 2022 with general orders to start from January 5.

The 9 and 9 Pro are also now believed to have batteries of 4,550mAh and 4,700mAh in capacity respectively, one or both of which may charge at 120W. Based on these new leaks, it now seems they may debut in very late 2021 or early 2022.

Original Article: Given that the iQOO 8 Pro was the first Android flagship to launch with the latest E5 AMOLED display technology, driven by the Snapdragon 888+ processor, its successor has some big shoes to fill. Then again, the phone in question is now slated to launch with the even newer Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC.

According to the latest leak, this "iQOO 9 Pro" (which may be accompanied by a vanilla 9) may also be able to level its display up with new LTPO 2.0 technology, already touted as an improved way of switching refresh rates from 1 to 120Hz by OnePlus.

The iQOO 9 or 9 Pro is tipped to rock a 50MP main camera. This would not be an upgrade compared to its predecessor; however, according to an image posted by the eminent leaker Digital Chat Station, it might be augmented by gimbal tech from its owner Vivo. Furthermore, the flagship series is also now allegedly destined for a new and upgraded 150° ultra-wide rear camera also secured by Realme for its GT2 Pro.

The resulting camera module may be set in a rear panel that is a variation on the brand's by-now signature white background with red, black and blue racing-style stripes.

However, there seems to be new co-branding involved this time: iQOO may be sponsored by King Premier League (KPL, or a competition dedicated to the Chinese game Kings of Glory) for the 9 and 9 Pro.

A date on which all these new rumors may be confirmed or denied has yet to be revealed, however.
