The Axon 20 5G was the first ever phone to launch with an under-display selfie camera. However, its maker ZTE has never made it available outside China. This will change, though, on December 21, 2020, when the OEM releases it to certain additional markets.

ZTE has let it be known that the Axon 20 5G will become available in more countries as of December 21, 2020. This phone is the first to use an under-display selfie camera, which may be the ultimate end of punch-holes or notches in the coming years.

Apart from this spec for its 6.92-inch FHD+ 90Hz OLED display, the Axon 20 5G has a 4220mAh battery that charges at up to 30 watts (W) with the Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0 standard. It has 8GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage and the Snapdragon 765G processor.

ZTE claims that the 5G connectivity conferred by this SoC is enhanced with a system of 12-antennae. The OEM has reportedly indicated that its availability will be expanded to markets such as the EU, the UK, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, the United Arab Emirates and South Africa.

However, these regions are unlikely to include the US, as it is in a new dispute with this country's authorities following the designation of its wireless network hardware as a "security threat" by the Federal Communication Commission (FCC).

ZTE has yet to mention how much the Axon 20 5G will be on its new launch, or the channels through which it will be sold. However, there is an email list called the "New Vision Club" that may offer its members some advance intel on this subject on the day.
