Xiaomi shook the supercar market up with the Ultra version of its SU7 - now, the company is tipped to do the same to the SUV market with an upcoming variant of the YU7.
ChinaEVHome claims to have spotted the upcoming car in the wild, even though it was apparently covered with anti-leak camuflage at the time.
The car can indeed be said to resemble Xiaomi's inaugural electric SUV nonetheless - although it has slightly larger air intakes and, as ChinaEVHome insists, what might be the same flared wheel arches as the SU7 Ultra.
The "YU7 Ultra" is believed to have the same platform as its putative SU7-series counterpart, which could confer an output of up to 1,548 horsepower (hp) on the vehicle, with torque of up to 1,770 newton-meters (Nm).
It is projected to have a 0-100 kilometers per hour (km/h) time of as little as 2.5 seconds, especially if it would have the same 93.7 kilowatt-hour (kWh) battery as the SU7 Ultra.
In the meantime, Xiaomi is reportedly having trouble filling orders for even the base-model version of the YU7, amid alleged plans for a larger ("YU9") version of the same car for release in the near future.
