Xiaomi has seemingly started to roll out stable HyperOS 2.3 to global smartphones. As spotted by XiaomiTime, the Xiaomi 15 is the first to receive the Android 16 update, and the outlet recently reported that the global 14T Pro has also started to get the new firmware.
As for the Xiaomi 15, the HyperOS 2.3 update is marked with the firmware version OS2.0.217.0.WOCMIXM. On the 14T Pro, on the other hand, it's getting the OS2.0.214.0.WNNMIXM firmware. While only two global phones are reported to receive the Android 16 update, the company has already confirmed that more devices are supported.
Among the phones that are currently in the beta testing phase are the Poco F7 series, Poco X7 Pro, Xiaomi Mix Flip, Pad 7 Pro, and the Redmi K70 lineup. These are expected to get the stable global version of Xiaomi HyperOS 2.3 soon.
As for the update itself, HyperOS 2.3 brings a handful of improvements. For example, in terms of system-level updates, the Android 16-based firmware has the latest security patch, and it promises performance optimizations and better memory management. The system animations have apparently been updated as well, but there hasn't been a major UI overhaul.
Other than that, the Android 16 HyperOS update promises enhanced privacy controls and expanded malware protection. Those with a supported global Xiaomi phone can install the new firmware from the device's settings. Given that it's rolling out gradually, it can take a while for the OTA update to reach all the regions.
