With the Xiaomi YU7 SUV, the Chinese company is launching a powerful electric vehicle featuring up to 681 HP, an 800-volt architecture and a generous range of up to 835 kilometers. The vehicle was unveiled in China on June 24, 2025, and is based on Xiaomi's proprietary EV platfom. It comes in three variants: the standard rear-wheel drive model, the all-wheel drive Pro version, and the top-of-the-line Max model. Power output ranges from 315 kW (428 hp) to 508 kW (681 hp), depending on the configuration.
Particularly noteworthy is the 800-volt charging technology, which enables fast charging at up to 5.2 C. According to Xiaomi, this allows the battery to be charged from 10 to 80% within twelve minutes, corresponding to a range of approximately 620 kilometers in just a quarter of an hour of charging time. Depending on the model, batteries with a capacity of up to 101.7 kWh are installed.
The interior features are also top-class: A 16.1-inch display, a 1+ meter-wide head-up display and a host of digital functions ensure a 'networked' driving experience. This is further supplemented by an adaptive chassis, numerous assistance systems (including LiDAR sensors) and a high-quality interior with nappa leather seats and Dolby Atmos.
The Xiaomi YU7 SUV is primarily aimed at tech-savvy buyers in the premium segment, but is still much cheaper than many established competitors. Pre-orders in China began in June 2025, with initial deliveries scheduled for the summer. Whether and when the model will be available in global markets outside China remains to be seen. However, Xiaomi has already announced its long-term intention to launch its own electric vehicles in Europe.
