Xiaomi Mijia Cooking Robot Thermomix competitor arrives in the EU
The Xiaomi Mijia Cooking Robot is now available in the EU. So far, the gadget has launched in Germany, selling for €1,199.99 (~US$1,263). This price makes it slightly cheaper than its competitor, the Thermomix TM6 Noir, retailing for €1,399 (~US$1,472) in Germany.
The Mijia Cooking Robot launched in China in September with an MSRP of 6,999 yuan (~US$996). Xiaomi claims there are over 35 ways to use the smart kitchen gadget, including spice grinding, washing and chopping. You can even use the device to weigh your ingredients, and an AI algorithm can make smart cooking decisions. According to the company, you can prepare up to four dishes at once, with various spaces for stewing, boiling, grilling and steaming.
The device has up to 2.2 L capacity, a maximum heating temperature of 180 °C (~356 °F) and a top rotation speed of 12,000 rpm. The robot is accompanied by an 8-in (~203 mm) touchscreen panel, which you can use to view recipe ideas or adjust the gadget's settings. Alternatively, you can control the device with voice commands. It is unclear whether or when the Xiaomi Mijia Cooking Robot could launch in other European countries.
