Xiaomi Black Shark S1 Pro: New AMOLED smartwatch launches in the USA and Europe at a very attractive price
Xiaomi is now offering a new AMOLED smartwatch in the USA and Europe, the Black Shark S1 Pro. The model reportedly offers AI support and can be used to make calls. The price is very reasonable, but Xiaomi is also facing stiff competition from many other wearables.
Xiaomi is aiming to revitalize the Black Shark brand and is selling the corresponding products in the US and Europe. Now, the Black Shark S1 Pro, a new and well-equipped smartwatch, is available for order. The price for the model is US$69, although shipping costs are waived for orders over US$90. Delivery to the US will be made within the US, namely from a US shipping warehouse, so there is no risk of customs duties. The same applies to deliveries within Europe, which come from a warehouse in Poland. However, buyers should not expect their warranty rights to be honored as with a local dealer.
The Black Shark S1 Pro has a 1.43-inch AMOLED screen and thus promises colorful reproduction and good black levels. According to Xiaomi, the smartwatch comes with IP68 certification, meaning that it can withstand the typical stresses of everyday life and sports, but is not suitable for swimming or diving.
Support for ChatGPT is advertised: this function likely refers to the digital assistant. A microphone and loudspeaker are also on board, making it possible to use it as a Bluetooth hands-free device. Since the model does not have its own cellular module, the Black Shark S1 Pro relies on a paired smartphone, and since no GNSS module is integrated, sporting activities cannot be recorded in terms of the distance covered.

I have been active as a journalist for over 10 years, most of it in the field of technology. I worked for Tom’s Hardware and ComputerBase, among others, and have been working for Notebookcheck since 2017. My current focus is particularly on mini PCs and single-board computers such as the Raspberry Pi – so in other words, compact systems with a lot of potential. In addition, I have a soft spot for all kinds of wearables, especially smartwatches. My main profession is as a laboratory engineer, which is why neither scientific contexts nor the interpretation of complex measurements are foreign to me.

Growing up in regional Australia, I first became acquainted with computers in my early teens after a broken leg from a football (soccer) match temporarily condemned me to a predominately indoor lifestyle. Soon afterwards I was building my own systems. Now I live in Germany, having moved here in 2014, where I study philosophy and anthropology. I am particularly fascinated by how computer technology has fundamentally and dramatically reshaped human culture, and how it continues to do so.
