Following the format that Microsoft first established in 2023, the Xbox Games Showcase is returning for 2025. Titled “Xbox Games Showcase 2025”, the digital-only presentation will air on June 8th at 10 am Pacific Time/ 1 pm Eastern Time / 6 pm UK time. The event will be live-streamed on Xbox’s YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook pages. There will also be a stream in American Sign Language (ASL) on Twitch.tv/XboxASL.
Per Xbox Wire, the Xbox Games Showcase 2025 will present both first-party games from Xbox Studios and third-party titles from different publishers. While no names have been given, it is reasonable to assume that we can see hotly anticipated games like PlayGround’s Fable, Gears of War E-Day from The Coalition, and Clockwork Revolution from inXile. Xbox might also surprise fans by teasing Halo Combat Evolved Remake, which is rumored to have been in the works since January 2024.
Moreover, Rare might even show some gameplay of Everwild, a promising title that has had a rough development cycle. And, if we are speculating, why not hope for some juicy details about The Elder Scrolls VI. Bethesda teased the title all the way back at E3 2018. Since then, Bethesda has released two games in Fallout 76 and Starfield, but we are yet to see anything tangible regarding The Elder Scrolls VI. We are hoping the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase 2025 will change that.
The Outer Worlds 2 Direct
Following the Xbox Games Showcase 2025, Microsoft will air the The Outer Worlds 2 Direct. Xbox followed the same approach in 2024 and 2023 with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Direct and Starfield Direct, respectively.
The Outer Worlds 2 is the sequel to Obsidian Entertainment’s Sci-fi RPG The Outer Worlds, which released in 2019 to critical acclaim. Built on Unreal Engine 5, The Outer Worlds 2 follows the same art style as its predecessor with vibrant Sci-Fi visuals. The gameplay also looks to be the same with combat centered around quirky melee and shooting weapons.
At The Outer Worlds 2 Direct, Obsidian Entertainment will reportedly share more details about the gameplay and other aspects of the title. However, folks who can’t wait to see The Outer Worlds 2 in action can check out IGN’s 11-minute gameplay footage linked below.
