Just over a week has now passed since Vivo opened its OriginOS 6 Beta Program for devices like the Vivo X200 Ultra in China. To recap, the company's Chinese Beta Program also includes the rest of the X200 series and the X Fold5, which compares favourably against other foldables like the Oppo Find N5, Pixel 9 Pro Fold and the Galaxy Z Fold7 (curr. $1,899 on Amazon).
On top of that, OriginOS 6 extends to recent iQOO models like the iQOO 13 and the Neo10 series. Shortly afterwards, iQOO and Vivo announced an equivalent beta program internationally. For some reason, the pair have renamed the program as the OriginOS 6 Preview Program. Not only that, OriginOS 6 is only available to test on the iQOO 13 and Vivo X200 Pro at the time of writing.
Currently, iQOO and Vivo have listed the OriginOS 6 Preview Program as a Closed Beta. As a result, one must select 'Version Trial' after navigating to System Update, then selecting 'Closed Beta Sign-Up' and completing a registration form before being admitted to the beta program.
iQOO and Vivo have confirmed that OriginOS 6 will receive a full global release on October 15. Unfortunately, it remains to be seen in what capacity the pair's Android 16 update will be available, as neither have published a full release schedule yet. In the meantime, Vivo has teased some of the improvements between OriginOS 5 and OriginOS 6 by way of two short videos that we have embedded below.
