Vivo NEX 3 will have a 99.6 percent screen-to-body ratio
Vivo has been slowly trickling out the leaks ahead of the launch of its NEX 3 all-screen smartphone. We already knew that it was going to be something special given it will be among the first to feature a new ‘waterfall’ OLED display with extreme curvature at the sides. Now, the Chinese company’s product manager has revealed that the Vivo NEX 3 will have an incredible 99.6 percent screen-to-body ratio. Even with more conservative screen-to-body measurements, Vivo believes there won’t be another smartphone within an arm’s reach for at least six months after its launch.
The virtually bezel-less Vivo NEX 3 will center on a 6.89-inch AMOLED display with under-screen fingerprint sensor. It will be properly flagship worthy in every other department as well. This means a Snapdragon 855+ SoC mated to 12 GB of RAM and fitted with 512 GB of storage. It will be ably supported by a large 4,500 mAh battery with 44 W fast-charging. The main camera will feature a 64 MP sensor supported by a wide-angle 13 MP sensor and telephoto 13 MP sensor for a triple rear camera array. The signature pop-up selfie camera will integrate to two 16 MP sensors, the second for groufies.
There won’t be much else to learn about the Vivo NEX 3 when it launches early next week. Of particular interest will be how Vivo has managed to stop accidental touches on the sides of the display from making the thing a nightmare to use on a daily basis.
