TCL has launched new TVs for 2020, which are divided into 3 series: V8, C8 and P9, which also have their own additional marketing monikers and specific enhancements or use-cases. They are quantum-dot panels, some of which also have "Hi-Fi" audio or hands-free controls.

TCL has outlined its 2020 TV line-up. It consists of 13 new models split into 3 new series. The OEM describes them as "equipped with quantum dot Pro 2020 technology"; however, it seems the "Pro" moiety of this term is delivered via new optimizations and enhancements rather than actual hardware.

These new screens fall into the categories of "V8 full scene AI TVs"; "C8 Zhizhen QLED TVs" and "P9 Hollywood Theater TVs". The former is indeed focused on smart features such as their control and use through interactions with a built-in assistant. These devices are also equipped for facial and voice recognition so as to distinguish between different users and generating individualized profiles for them. The V8s are also intended as smart-home hubs.

C8 Zhizhen TVs have QLED panels enhanced using TCL's proprietary Q image quality engine technology. In addition, the OEM claims that they feature "in-depth optimization in terms of brightness, color and sharpness". The P9 Hollywood Theater TVs, as suggested by the nickname, are more pitched as home theaters unto themselves, with Hi-Fi audio provided by Onkyo and sound-quality validation carried out by the professional group GoldenEar.

TCL has yet to reveal details on the dimensions, SKUs and pricing ranges associated with either of these 3 new groups. Similarly, it is not yet known when they will be released, or onto which markets worldwide.
