Sony has announced the XAV-AX150, XAV-AX8100 and XAV-AX5600 as its latest AV auto receivers. Sony asserts that they deliver clear, bass-heavy in-car audio thanks to the OEM's proprietary technologies. The new units also feature HDMI inputs for the first time, as well as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and WebLink Cast.

Sony has equipped its latest AV receivers with "premium" displays and brushed aluminium faceplates. The XAV-AX150, XAV-AX8100 and XAV-AX5600 also support Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and WebLink Cast. There are also additional HDMI inputs for alternative sources of entertainment, although there are also Bluetooth, USB and 5V 3-pre out options included with these new in-car terminals.

The 3 new receivers also feature "premium" touchscreens with adjustable mounts and customizable wallpapers. The XAV-AX8100 and XAV-AX5600 have 8.95-inch displays, whereas that of the XAV-AX150 is 6.95 inches. Then again, the latter also feature a quad 55W or 20W power output.

The 3 new AV receivers also feature Sony's EXTRA BASS and Sound Optimization technology, with an additional Dynamic Stage Organizer (DSO) in the XAV-AX150 to optimize audio specifically for the in-car environment. That new receiver will become available from May 2021 and will be priced at about US$300.

The XAV-AX5600 and XAV-AX8100, on the other hand, will be released in July, and have recommended prices of $500 and $650 respectively.
