Samsung has officially confirmed on a teaser website that the Galaxy M36 5G will be launched on June 27. The company is showcasing the mid-range smartphone in advance via a series of teaser images, which show that Samsung is not simply adopting the design of the Galaxy A36 5G, as the Galaxy M36 5G features a notch instead of a punch-hole and the pill-shaped camera module visually separates the useless 2 MP sensor from the two other cameras.
The flat frame appears to be made of plastic since no antenna bands can be seen in the images. The housing is just 7.7 millimeters thick and the display is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+, which, according to Samsung, makes the screen four times more scratch-resistant than its direct predecessor. The device is also said to withstand drops from a height of up to two meters.
The Galaxy M36 5G has a 50-MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 13 MP selfie camera. The camera supports a night mode, a portrait mode with bokeh simulation and 4K video recording. Samsung touts a range of AI features, such as the ability to remove distracting objects from images or crop objects.
Features such as Google's Circle to Search, Gemini Live and an AI image generator are also on board. Samsung is yet to confirm any details about the processor, the screen or the price, and it is also not yet known whether the Galaxy M36 5G will be launched globally.
