Should Samsung's Galaxy A13 5G get a direct successor in 2023, it may emerge at least looking like an extremely affordable version of the corresponding flagship S23 series. Now, the same device is thought to land in India in the new year, thanks to its reported arrival on a national regulator's database. Interestingly, it has reportedly been listed alongside even less familiar, yet still Samsung-esque, model numbers.
The Galaxy "A14 5G" is suspected to improve on its predecessor with Android 13 out of the box and potentially upgraded, refined rear cameras. Now, Indian consumers are rumored to be among those that might get to find out for sure in 2023.
A model number pretty conclusively associated with the A14 5G has reportedly appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), a body that approves new devices for sale in India prior to their launch, alongside other intriguing terms such as SM-K748B/DS (a new device?...a new series?) and SM-918B/DS. This "SM-A146" also has a B/DS suffix in this case, hinting at a regional variant with dual SIM slots.
Therefore, the putative smartphone might indeed join the A13 on that market. The Galaxy A14 5G still has not become linked to renders that may predict what it looks like; therefore, it is impossible to say if it really will switch to the new build made to resemble the Galaxy S22 Ultra - if not the S23 Ultra - that Samsung is said to have prepared for even its entry-level and mid-range Android smartphones to launch in 2023.
