OPPO launches a new Mars Exploration Edition of the Find X3 Pro
Tianwen-1 is an interplanetary probe, incorporating a rover along with other technology, launched into space alongside NASA's Perseverance. Its owner, the Chinese national space agency, claims that it made a successful landing on Mars on May 14, 2021. The OEM OPPO has celebrated this apparent achievement with a new variant of its Find X3 Pro.
This Mars Exploration Edition looks much like its pre-existing counterparts, except for its new color: a dark gray OPPO has chosen as it evinces outer space. Similarly, its rear panel is made of glass treated with a finish intended to recall the extraterrestrial environment in its texture.
The Find X3 Pro Mars Exploration Edition also bears additional "Mars 2021" branding, as well as the legend "Utopia Planitia", referring to Tianwen-1's landing site and last reported location. Otherwise, it has the same specs as a normal X3 Pro, a Snapdragon 888 SoC, QHD+ AMOLED display and dual 50MP main cameras included.
OPPO has put this new limited edition up for pre-order already. It is a top-end 16GB RAM/512GB internal storage SKU, and goes for 6,999 yuan (~US$1090) on the company's usual retail platform from now.
