The latest first-party Nintendo games as well as accessories were not purchasable on Amazon.com for at least a year and the Switch 2 console was not available on the all-important e-commerce platform at launch, either. There is a silver lining, however, as over the weekend, Nintendo made some of its first-party Switch 2 games available to purchase.
One of the downsides of unavailability of first-party Nintendo games, consoles and accessories on Amazon was that customers were not able to pre-order any upcoming games or buy the Switch 2. Nintendo items were sold and shipped by third-party sellers when purchased on the site. Up till now, only third-party Switch 2 launch titles were available on Amazon, like Cyberpunk 2077.
As some people spotted, Nintendo finally changed its strategy a short while ago, with games like Donkey Kong Bananza, Super Mario Party Jamboree, and Kirby and the Forgotten Land + Star-Crossed World now listed on Amazon. They actually are purchasable with both same-day and 'normal' delivery options available. This is still a very good sign and an indication that the second-generation Switch may eventually become orderable directly from Nintendo's Amazon store, too.
