The Nintendo Switch 2 will reach the public on June 5 but there are already some users who have got access to the console. One such user, from Russia, has shared a first boot video and the setup process has some nice background music this time around.

As we get close to the Nintendo Switch 2 launch date, more leaks are surfacing with some people getting access to the console already. Recently, an unboxing video of the console showed up on Reddit, and was subsequently taken down. Now, a first boot video of the Switch 2 is doing the rounds and it reveals an interesting quirk about the setup process.

Shared on the r/NintendoSwitch2 subreddit, a 41-second clip from a Russian user shows the Switch 2 booting up for the first time. It shows the console powering on with the Nintendo logo, followed by the Switch 2 logo, and then landing on the language selection screen. The first boot set up process seems pretty standard but what’s interesting is the music in the background. Nintendo seems to have added music during the first boot setup process.

The original Switch did not have any music during the set-up process but it did have something that the new Switch 2 seems to be lacking – the Joy-Con connection animation with the snap sound. At least on the first boot, there is no Joy-Con snap sound, but it could be possible that subsequent boot animations include it.

At the time of writing, the video is still available on the subreddit but just like the unboxing video, this might be taken down soon. The Russian user in the video also questions if it’s worth activating the console with fear of getting banned. It was recently reported that in order to play games on the Switch 2, a day-one patch would be required so those who have access to the console will not be able to use it for gaming, till June 5.

The Switch 2 hype has been incredible and retailers seem to be struggling to uphold pre-orders. Walmart, GameStop, and Target have cancelled some pre-orders with Walmart being the source of most complaints.
