Garmin has released a new software update for the Index Sleep Monitor. This wearable was released in mid-June 2025, a lightweight accessory designed to be worn at night instead of your smartwatch. It can be used to track your sleep health, offering features including Body Battery, sleep score and Breathing Variations, and it also has a vibration alarm.
Index Sleep Monitor software version 3.40, announced in a post on the Garmin forum, is said to bring two improvements to this new wearable. Firstly, the release enhances the accessory’s file syncing experience. The second optimization listed in the change log is an improvement in system stability. In both cases, Garmin has not explained exactly where users will experience a benefit from these changes.
You can install software version 3.40 for the Garmin Index Sleep Monitor via Garmin Express on your computer or the Garmin Connect smartphone app. It appears that this release is now available for all users. It is unclear how frequently the company intends to issue updates for this new wearable going forward.
The Garmin Index Sleep Monitor can be purchased via the brand’s online store, priced at $169.99 in the US. It is worth noting that customers can currently expect to wait five to eight weeks for the product to ship.
