Windows game emulation on Android is progressing well, and a new player in the segment, GameNative, has received a major update. The PC game emulation tool has been updated to version 0.3.0, and it brings multiple key improvements, including the latest Vortek driver.
This driver addition promises improved compatibility with DirectX 10 and DirectX 11 games on phones with non-Adreno GPUs. It's similar to what GameSir has introduced with the latest version of GameHub, and thanks to this, devices with non-Snapdragon processors should see a bump in game emulation performance.
The new version of GameNative also makes it easier to launch games through Steam. This change will mean that the emulator can better handle titles with Denuvo DRM and offer support for online play.
In addition, the developer notes that version 0.3.0 brings in-game frame rate improvements. Of course, there's no mention of specific titles, and the scale of improvement will largely depend on the phone used for emulation.
Other than that, GameNative v0.3.0 brings general stability and improvements, which should lead to smoother emulation. Overall, it seems that the emulator is slowly shaping up to be a much better fork of Pluvia. But then again, it's still far from the stable version that the developer has plans for, and given that it's not version 1.0 yet, users can face many hiccups while emulating Windows games. For those interested, the latest version is available to download on the official GitHub repository.
