Update | Motorola Edge 40 turns up for pre-order in India

Update: Motorola has now introduced the Edge 40 to India as the most "flamboyant performer" in the mid-range Android smartphone space. Its  has a recommended retail price of INR 34,999 (~US$422) for its single 8GB RAM/256GB internal storage SKU - however, it can be pre-ordered from Flipkart for just INR 29,999 (~US$362) until May 30, 2023.

Original Article: Motorola has graced Europe with a launch for its new Edge 40 Pro flagship smartphone prior to that for its mid-range sibling. However, according to a new leak, it will be the other way around for the Indian market.

Accordingly, the Edge 40 may join its 30-series predecessor on sites such as Amazon.in soon. It will, apparently, arrive in green and black vegan leather finish options, with a blue "PMMA acrylic" as the only alternative.

Therefore, India, like Europe, may only see the release of the Dimensity 8020-powered smartphone in its final Viva Magenta colorway at a later date. Looks aside, the Edge 40 is thought to become official during event for its new Indian audience with a provisional "May 2023" date thus far.

There is no word on how much the 68W TurboCharge device might cost in its new region. The Edge 30 did start at INR 34,999 (~US$426) with 8GB of RAM - then again, it is seeing some potentially generous discounts right about now.
