HTC has indicated that it will unleash a successor to the Desire 22 Pro later in May 2023. It is thought to launch with potentially significant rear camera and display specs (on paper, at least), with more moderate battery and charging upgrades. Then again, the OEM may choose to focus on use-cases besides mobile photography or mid-range performance with this next-gen "Pro".
HTC does not specify which device it intends to launch yet in its new marketing material; however, the U23 Pro 5G is thought to be the smartphone in question. Despite its name, it is also believed to land as a successor for the Desire 22 Pro of yesteryear.
The supposedly Android 13-powered "U23 Pro 5G" is thought to ditch the 22 Pro's clean, Sony Xperia-like rear camera hump for one that scatters quad rear shooters further across the rear panel this time around. Then again, it may also contain HTC's first 108MP main camera.
The smartphone may also upgrade to an AMOLED display and the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC - which may or may not be wasted on its status as the next Viverse ecosystem smartphone. HTC may confirm or deny the rest of its rumored specs, an indifferent upgrade to a 4,600mAh battery with 33W charging included, on its May 18, 2023 launch.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
