Reviews for the Lenovo IdeaPad Y510p-59393383

The only gamer-dedicated laptop in Lenovo's vast catalogue, the Ideapad Y510p uses two graphics cards to provide high-performance gaming. The Ideapad Y510p is a well-built laptop that can support a wide range of uses thanks to a beefy configuration (two graphics cards with SLI, Core i7...). It's just a shame that Lenovo didn't concentrate a little more on the screen, which is very bad, and the speakers.

Model:
Under the hood of the Lenovo IdeaPad Y510p, you'll find an Intel i7 quad core processor, a dual GPU system by Nvidia, and a generous 8 GB of RAM. This gives an ideal gamer's laptop at a bargain. Windows 8 is used as operating system. Audiophiles will appreciate the built-in Dolby Home Theater-certified JBL speakers.
The case is solid, but it does not look impressive at all. The Lenovo Ideapad Y510p features a stunning 15.6-inch 1080p LED backlit, anti glare screen with wide viewing angles and vivid and crisp images. This powerhouse weighs in at only 2.69 kg and competes with other slim gaming laptops in the market.
The downside of this product is its battery life of only 3 to 5 hours depending on the load. Like any other laptop in the market, it gets warm after a while of usage, but its seems to fare significantly better than the rest of the pack. Overall, the Lenovo IdeaPad Y510p can be considered a great gaming laptop with great value for your money.
NVIDIA GeForce GT 755M SLI: High-end SLI-setup of two GeForce GT 755M, based on the Kepler-architecture and manufactured in 28nm.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.
4700MQ: Haswell-based quad-core processor clocked at 2.4 GHz with Turbo Boost support up to 3.4 GHz. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 4600 GPU and a dual channel DDR3 memory controller.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.
15.60":
15-inch display variants are the standard and are used for more than half of all laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, often allows high resolutions and thus offers rich details on the screen, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact - simply the standard compromise.

With this weight, a laptop is rather heavier than average. Devices in this range shine more with screen size and performance than with mobility.
Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" from English legend, novo (Latin) for new) was founded in 1984 as a Chinese computer trading company. As of 2004, the company was the largest laptop manufacturer in China and, after acquiring IBM's PC division in 2005, the fourth largest in the world. In addition to desktops and notebooks, the company manufactures monitors, projectors, servers, etc, and specializes in developing, manufacturing and marketing consumer electronics, personal computers, software, enterprise solutions and related services.
In 2016, the company ranked first in the world in computer sales. It still held it in 2023 with about 23% global market share. Important product lines are Thinkpad, Legion and Ideapad.
In 2011, it acquired a majority stake in Medion AG, a European computer hardware manufacturer. In 2014, Motorola Mobility was purchased, which gave Lenovo a boost in the smartphone market.
60%: Such a poor rating is rare. There are only a few notebooks that were rated even worse. The rating websites do not give a purchase recommendation here.
