After launching a 140W wall charger earlier this year, Anker is preparing to follow it up with a higher rated model. The upcoming charger will have a max output of 160W but with fewer ports than the 140W model.

At the beginning of this year, Anker released a 140W wall charger. The 4-port GaN charger also has a digital display that shows important details such as how much power a device is drawing and the temperature. Now, Anker wants to release a more powerful model with a higher power rating.

According to AnkerInsider, the new charger which has the model number A2687, is a 160W 3-port wall adapter with a smart display. The charger's dimensions are given as 6.5 x 5.2 x 3.5 cm and its weight is reported to be about 250 grams. An image of the charger provided by the source shows it will be available in gray.

Earlier, the source had revealed the charger will have three USB-C ports only unlike the 140W charger which has three USB-C ports and a USB-A port. However, due to its higher power rating, users should be able to simultaneously charge multiple devices faster.

The Anker 160W charger is also reported to have Anker's PowerIQ 5.0 technology with dynamic power distribution every two minutes. It is also expected to have a foldable plug, at least for the US version; and since it has a display too, it should have similar features such as temperature monitoring and port specific details

The Anker Prime 3-Port 160W wall charger is expected to cost between $129.99 and $149.99 when it launches this fall according to AnkerInsider. The 4-port 140W charger on the other hand is available to buy on Amazon for $99.99 in Dark Gray or Silver and it comes with a braided cable in the box.
