While the iPhone 17 series wont't debut till September, a new leak has now provided some insight into Apple's plans for its 2026 flagship phones, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, potentially also hinting at changes to Dynamic Island.
As shared by leaker Digital Chat Station, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro will be the first iPhones to offer under-display technology, with the flagships supposedly set to have their Face ID hardware sitting beneath their displays. This isn't the first time word of this has surfaced either, so it seems likely that there is substance to it.
More divisive, however, is how such a change would affect Apple's approach to its Dynamic Island on the duo. Current-gen iPhones have their Face ID hardware stowed away within the Dynamic Island, and changing that potentially raises questions over the necessity of Dynamic Island. In addition, the leak claims the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max will have their selfie cameras housed within a HIIA (Hole-In-Active-Area) punch-hole.
Less interestingly, the source indicates the iPhone 18 Pro will feature a 6.27-inch 1.5K LTPO display, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max will sport a 6.86-inch 1.5K LTPO one—effectively unchanged from the iPhone 16 Pro models in that regard.
