JX1 mini-PC debuts with Intel Celeron N5105 processor and unusual ports arrangement

The JX1 is a new mini-PC powered by a not-so-new processor. Offered with the Celeron N5105, the JX1 leverages Intel’s Jasper Lake architecture, with four CPU cores, no threads and a UHD Graphics (Jasper Lake 24 EU) iGPU at its disposal with a 10 W TDP. Additionally, the mini-PC has LPDDR4 RAM, with only 8 GB of soldered memory available at the time of writing.

Theoretically, the JX1’s storage should be upgradeable though, thanks to the use of an M.2 2280 SSD. Moreover, the JX1 has a USB Type-C port with DisplayPort functionality, a second USB Type-C port for providing power and three USB Type-A ports, along with single Gigabit Ethernet, 3.5 mm audio and HDMI connections. Incidentally, the JX1 offers Bluetooth 5.2 and WiFi 6 connectivity on account of its Celeron N5105 processor.

The JX1 measures 160 x 80 x 20 mm, which may explain the inclusion of a small fan to dissipate heat. Unlike many mini-PCs, the JX1 has all its ports facing out its rear, which should provide a cleaner look on a desk at the expense of versatility. The JX1 starts at US$159.99 with 128 GB of storage and a Windows 11 licence. Prices only rise by US$10 for double the storage, though.
