Alongside several new computers, HP has also announced new gaming peripherals at its HP Amplify event, and among them is the HyperX Cloud III S Wireless Gaming Headset.
The HyperX Cloud III S Wireless Gaming Headset is designed to be customizable much like the HyperX mouse announced earlier this year. Thanks to its modular design, owners will be able to remove its magnetic earcup plates and customize them as they wish; and in regions where it's available, there's the option to replace them with 3D printed plates sold on the HyperX website.
The headset has an over-the-ear closed back design with 53mm dynamic drivers housed in ear cushions made of memory foam and leatherette. It also has a detachable boom microphone as well as integrated MEMS omni-directional microphones.
The HyperX Cloud III S wireless gaming headset supports both Bluetooth (5.3) and 2.4GHz wireless connections, and if you own a supported HP Omen computer, you don't even need a dongle to use 2.4GHz wireless mode. When in Bluetooth mode, the headset will last up to 200 hours but that drops to 120 hours when you switch to 2.4GHz wireless mode. A full charge takes about 5 hours.
Weighing 340 grams, the HyperX Cloud III S also has on-device controls for adjusting the volume and muting the microphone. It is available in red and black color options, but details about pricing and availability are currently unavailable.
