Earlier, Huawei confirmed that the Mate 40 flagship series was on the way, but neglected to say when exactly. Now, its official Twitter channel has revealed that this will indeed occur on October 22, 2020. The company is already making impressive claims for its new phablets in its latest teaser.

Huawei has invited consumers to "Leap Further Ahead" at its upcoming major product launch. This event is now officially slated to announce that the Mate 40 series is coming - and that it will be joined by "Unprecedented Power".

Although nothing is certain as yet, it is possible that this new tag-line refers to the Kirin 9000 SoC, which, according to recent leaks, is to be based on a ground-breaking 5 nanometer (nm) process and will have integrated 5G. Then again, it may be reserved for upper-end Mate 40 variants only, as the chipsets are said to be in short supply.

Otherwise, the upcoming flagship phablet series is expected to once again revive the "watch-like" circular module for its rear cameras, alongside updated esthetics and finishes. Huawei may have reinforced some of these leaks with an impressive teaser image that may hint as to the Mate 30 successors' looks. However, we now have to wait until 14:00 CET on October 22, 2020 to find out for sure.
