In addition to design changes, the global and Chinese versions of both phones exhibit significant differences beneath the surface.
Honor 400 Pro: A more compact Chinese variant
Compared to the Honor 400 Pro intended for international markets, the Chinese variant shares the same display as the standard Honor 400. As a result, its screen measures only 6.55 inches diagonally rather than 6.70 inches, though it still supports FHD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate, just like the global version.
Moreover, the Chinese Honor 400 Pro is available in four colour options instead of two, with the addition of the pink “Quicksand” and blue “Sea Breeze” colourways. The Chinese variant can also be configured with up to 1 TB of storage and 16 GB of RAM – an option unavailable for the global model.
Perhaps more crucially, consumers in China will get a much larger battery. Whilst the international model comes with a 5,300 mAh battery, the Chinese model packs a massive 7,200 mAh battery. According to official specs, the phone can potentially last up to 33 days on standby with this upgraded capacity, despite maintaining the same weight as the global variant.
Honor 400: Differences lie in the details
Whilst both versions of the non-Pro Honor 400 look similar on the outside, the Chinese model offers up to 16 GB of memory, double that of its global counterpart. It is also powered by the latest Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, whereas the international variant rather runs on the older Snapdragon 7 Gen 3. Weighing 196 g (6.9 oz), the Honor 400 for the Chinese market is also around 10 g (0.4 oz) heavier.
Besides having expanded colour options like its Pro sibling, the Chinese Honor 400 features IP68 and IP69 ratings for superior water protection compared to the IP65-rated global model.
