GoPro announces the Enduro extended battery pack for the Hero 9 Black and Hero 10 Black
GoPro has announced a new battery pack as part of its bid to improve runtimes on the Hero 10 Black. The company also plans to issue a firmware update for the action camera that should yield up to 154% longer battery life with its regular battery. The firmware update contains three video performance modes, as we have reported separately.
According to GoPro, it has designed the Enduro battery pack for use in cold temperatures, hence the image of two skiers that it has included in its promotional material. Supposedly, the Enduro battery will deliver the following battery times when operating at 14°F/-10°C. The company stresses that air temperatures may be even colder than those of the battery, for reference.
- 5.3K/60 FPS: 56 minutes
- 4K/120 FPS: 50 minutes
- 4K/60 FPS: 76 minutes
- 1080p/30 FPS: 115 minutes
Additionally, the Enduro offers better runtimes than GoPro's standard batteries in 'moderate temperatures, too. For example, the Enduro should deliver up to 40% longer battery life when recording at 77°F/25°C. The Enduro is compatible with the Hero 9 Black and Hero 10 Black and should reach full charge 'by up to 13%' compared to standard GoPro batteries. The Enduro will arrive on November 30 for US$24.99; existing GoPro subscribers will save 20% off the retail price.
