After the MagicBook Pro 16 (2024) generally impressed us during our in-depth review with its great performance, long battery life and bright PWM-free IPS panel, Honor appears to be preparing the launch of a smaller variant of the laptop. Honor China’s vice president posted the photos below on the Chinese social media platform Weibo.
One of the pictures shows part of the chassis, suggesting that the 14-inch model could be available in white, similar to its larger sibling. The numeric pad has been completely eliminated, likely due to space constraints. Two USB-A ports can also be seen on the right side. The second photo offers a look at the laptop’s internals. As the device is a prototype from a few months prior, some details might have changed in the meantime. The battery seems to have a particularly high capacity, but Honor has obscured further details behind a “Dragon Ball” sticker.
One thing for certain is that the notebook will feature two M.2 SSD slots, allowing users to easily add more storage after purchase. By contrast, the memory is non-upgradable since the RAM chips appear to be soldered directly onto the motherboard. Honor has also equipped the MagicBook Pro 14 with two fans and a pretty substantial heatsink. The design suggests that the laptop won’t come with a dedicated GPU, but it could still achieve good gaming performance with a processor such as the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395. However, judging by the form factor of the chip shown in the picture, the laptop is more likely using a current Intel processor. No information has been announced concerning the price and availability of the MagicBook Pro 14.
