Emeet has released the Pixy dual-camera AI PTZ 4K 30 fps webcam with 0.2 second AI autofocusing. The webcam uses a 1/2.55-inch Sony image sensor along with a secondary camera for improved AI facial imaging and focusing, according to the company.
The Sony sensor with 12M effective pixels sits behind a f/1.8 lens with a 73° field-of-view (roughly 24 mm full-frame lens equivalent). All the pixels across the entire sensor are used for autofocus, and when coupled with the secondary AI camera, the Pixy is able to lock focus within 0.2 seconds, according to Emeet.
Artificial intelligence technologies are used throughout the camera, including AI-powered background noise reduction using a 3-mic array, facial image tuning, and automatic subject tracking across the PTZ's 310° pan range and 180° tilt range. This allows users to freely walk across a room without worrying about wandering out-of-focus or out-of-shot. The camera can be controlled by hand gestures.
The computer app allows creators to pick among image presets, create shooting scripts with the help of AI, and switch into whiteboard mode for meetings. The Pixy is compatible with PCs running Microsoft Windows 10 and above, and Apple Macs running macOS 10.14 and above. It can also be used with the Nintendo Switch 2. The webcam measures 2.20 x 1.69 x 0.87 in. (56 x 43 x 22 mm) and weighs 4.23 oz. (120 g).
The Emeet Pixy auto-tracking webcam has a $159.99 MSRP and is available on Amazon.
