The EcoFlow x Shelly Smart Meter has been launched in Europe. It is one of two new devices from the partnership, arriving alongside the EcoFlow x Shelly Smart Plug. The smart meter is designed to help users of the brand’s Stream Series solar power plants manage their energy usage.
The Smart Meter allows you to track your power consumption across your entire home in real time. You could use this data to lower your home energy bills by switching off certain devices or choosing to power them during off-peak hours, if this applies to your energy tariff. The gadget can automatically detect surplus energy, with optimizations available through the EcoFlow Oasis algorithm. For example, when connected to the EcoFlow Stream AC Pro battery, the system can intelligently work out when to store energy, and when and where to use it in your home for maximum efficiency.
According to EcoFlow, the gadget has a response time of under one second. It is said to be relatively easy to install, mounting to a DIN rail, with support for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2. It is worth noting that this new smart meter is not compatible with the EcoFlow PowerStream Microinverter.
You can now buy the EcoFlow x Shelly Smart Meter in Europe for €179; that makes it €50 more expensive than the EcoFlow Smart Meter. Plus, customers who are signed up to the brand’s mailing list can get a 5% discount on their purchase.
