Dream GlassLead SE: New VR headset for video games and media playback on the go
The Dream Glass Lead SE is a new pair of virtual reality glasses. This model is much more compact, making it possible to have a highly immersive experience in small apartments and without a large television or even on public transport. In addition, discreet playback is possible, meaning that confidential information can be checked on buses and trains.
According to the manufacturer, the subjective image impression provided by the Dream Glass Lead SE corresponds to that of a 500-inch screen at a distance of 6 meters, but the viewing angle is also significant for VR headsets - this is specified as 90°. The resolution of each of the two displays is specified as 1920 x 1080, which means that Full HD material can be reproduced adequately. A refresh rate of 60 Hz corresponds to fundamentally smooth playback, but no more.
The glasses measure 280 x 100 x 95 millimeters and are not particularly inconspicuous. The glasses weigh 170 grams and the battery compartment a further 160 grams, so the whole set is not very light either. The battery has a capacity of 5500 mAh and the maximum runtime is claimed to be four hours. An Android-adapted operating system is used and image content from streaming service providers can be displayed directly via WiFi.
The system is currently being financed via Xiaomi YouPin at a price of around US$375. A possible alternative for around the same price is the Xreal Air via Amazon.
