Boat battle royale: Fortnite Chapter 2 gets accidentally leaked on the App Store

An image taken from the Italian App Store has been shared on social networks that shows a familiar Fortnite-style scenario but is emblazoned with the words “Fortnite Capitolo 2”. Fortunately, a screenshot of the picture has been doing the rounds on sites such as Twitter and Reddit, giving fans the opportunity to glean as much information as possible from a single image.

Arguably, there are two standout pieces of information (apart from the name itself) that have been getting Fortnite enthusiasts excited about the potential future release. Firstly, it appears there is a new map involved, which would be highly welcome considering how Fortnite’s competitors offer their loyal fans a selection of maps to battle in.

Secondly, it’s clear to see a couple of boats powering down the river, which obviously implies that Fortnite Chapter 2 will give players the opportunity to carry out their best battle royale maneuvers whilst traversing bodies of water.  

It could be hype, and it could be fake. Or it could be that Fortnite’s legion of players are going to be enjoying a revamped game that may still be the king of the battle royale crowd but could do with a bit of a spit and polish to maintain the heady figures that have seen it attract 250 million players and gross over US$2 billion.
