The Summer Game Fest took place yesterday, June 6 and despite some fairly average announcements overall, there's one new feature that will please some gamers. Atomic Heart 2 was announced, and it promises to be just as crazy as the first game.
Released in 2023 and created by Russian studio Mundfish, Atomic Heart made a name for itself with its nervous first-person gameplay, inspired by licenses such as BioShock. And the announcement of Atomic Heart 2 at Summer Game Fest is sure to delight many.
Fans will be able to immerse themselves in the continuity of this role-playing game, combining action and adventure in a retro-futuristic universe filled with robots and creatures of all kinds. And that's not all, because if you've played the first opus, you'll be reunited with some of the main characters, while discovering new players who will help you discover a new facet of the game.
As for the plot of this sequel, according to the information revealed in the trailer, it takes place in a world rewritten by the alternate history. However, events now take on a global scale, and many surprises await players.
However, there is one notable change that could greatly enhance gameplay. From now on, you'll be able to fight with both hands. And the special abilities of your glove can be combined with the weapons in your possession.
But while the announcement of Atomic Heart 2 at Summer Game Fest is a world first, Russian studio Mundfish had already announced plans for a sequel to its first opus a few weeks after its release to Twisted Voxel. What's more, it had made no secret of the fact that it would be present at the event, which millions of people had been waiting for.
However, we'll have to wait and see before we can dive back into this retro-futuristic universe sprinkled with humor and action. Although we know that it will be available on PC and console, no release date has yet been announced, although it is scheduled for 2026.
