Mini PCs have skyrocketed in popularity in the past few years. Asus has demonstrated a keen interest in the segment, which can be deduced from its ever-expanding lineup of NUC mini PCs. The latest in the family, the NUC 15 Pro, has now been announced by the company, although pricing and availability details remain under wraps for now.
At its core, the new Asus NUC 15 Pro lineup is powered by Arrow Lake-H and Raptor Lake-U/H CPUs. The Core Ultra 7 255H CPU appears to be the most potent chip that the mini PC can be configured with, which can be paired with up to 96 GB of DDR5-6400 memory. The lower-end Core 3,5,7-powered variant, on the other hand, ships with slightly slower DDR5-5600 memory. For storage requirements, the NUC 15 Pro mini PC lineup boasts an M.2 2280, as well as an M.2 2242 slot for a maximum 4 TB of SSD storage. Similar to its predecessor, the NUC 14 Pro (currently $909 on Amazon), the system lacks discrete graphics, although the integrated Arc 140T iGPU in the high-end variant should be plenty performant for non-intensive workloads.
The ports selection is perfectly decent, including dual HDM1 2.0, dual Thunderbolt 4, triple USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, USB-C 3.2 Gen2x2, USB 2.0, audio, as well as a 2.5G ethernet port. Wireless requirements are taken care of by included Bluetooth 5.4 and WiFi 7. The Asus NUC 15 Pro mini PC is available in tall and slim variants, although there does not seem to be any technical differences between the two. All said, considering that pricing details are scarce as of this writing, the value proposition for the NUC 15 Pro is yet to be decided. Given the features on offer, the mini PC will likely command a premium price tag when specced decently.
