The Aohi Starship 240W power bank is now crowdfunding at Kickstarter. Within a few hours of launch, the campaign had already attracted over 140 backers, raising more than $19,000 and surpassing the $5,000 funding goal.
The accessory has many similarities with the Anker Prime 27,650mAh Power Bank (250W). The Starship offers two USB-C ports with an up to 140W output, matching the Anker model. The USB-A port is less powerful, offering 22.5W rather than 60W. Plus, the maximum combined output is slightly lower; the Aohi device offers 240W, 140W and 100W via the two USB-C ports. Meanwhile, the Anker product has a total output of 250W, 140W and 92W via USB-C and 18W via USB-A. The Aohi Starship has a 27,600mAh capacity, similar to that of the Prime accessory, though it only supports an up to 140W input, lower than the 170W maximum of its competitor.
Both accessories have a built-in display, showing the charging status and remaining battery level, and each model weighs around 650g (~1.43 lbs). A Super Early Bird pledge for the Aohi Starship 240W power bank is priced at $99, 50% off the $199 RRP. For context, the Anker Prime 27,650mAh Power Bank (250W) retails for $179.99 at Amazon. According to the campaign page, the product is expected to ship in January, though it is only available to customers in some countries, including the US, the UK, Australia, and the Netherlands. Though this is Aohi’s sixth project, as with any crowdfunding campaign, there is no guarantee that the product will be delivered on time or at all.
