Acer has introduced a new "5K" gaming monitor, the Nitro XV270X. It comes with a 27-inch IPS panel that can offer up to a resolution of 5,120 x 2,880 pixels. However, with the DFR tech, the screen can be set to a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, running at 144 Hz.
In the "5K" mode, however, the refresh rate stays at 72 Hz. Acer claims that the IPS panel is rated for a response time of 1 ms (VRB) and a peak brightness of 400 nits. With 95% DCI-P3 color coverage, the gaming monitor is also said to offer "lifelike" images.
There's support for AMD FreeSync, which should offer smoother visuals during gameplay, but the company didn't specify which version of the display tech is integrated into this new gaming monitor. As for the port configuration, the Acer Nitro XV270X has the following ports:
- 2x HDMI 2.1
- 1x DisplayPort 1.4
- 1x audio out
The gaming monitor also features two 2-watt speakers, and per the promotional photos, it seems that the panel has narrow bezels, making it ideal for a multi-monitor setup (Huanou dual monitor stand curr. $59.99 on Amazon). Pricing-wise, the Nitro XV270X is set to launch in the EU at €699, around $813, and Acer says that it will be available from Q1 2026. Check out the complete spec sheet attached below to learn more.
