Ever fancied a wireless and a detachable set of GameCube controllers for the Nintendo Switch? Well, one modder did and they have posted their results online. An incredible amount of attention to detail has been paid to creating the GameCube Joy-Cons, with the results being an exquisite blend of the original GameCube controller and Joy-Cons.

There are many mods for the Nintendo Switch, varying from simple changes like changing Joy-Con colours through software to clear case mods. Now, an adventurous modder called Shank Mods has created GameCube Joy-Cons, which offer the ultimate way to play Super Smash Bros. on Nintendo's portable console. We would not recommend trying to create them yourself, but rather to marvel at their design and perhaps petition Shank Mods to mass-produce them.

The GameCube Joy-Cons are a true hybrid between the two controllers, with Shank Mods including all the buttons from the original GameCube controller with the wireless, rumble and gyro-capabilities of the Joy-Cons. Shank Mods has even created a centrepiece for using the GameCube Joy-Cons as a single controller. Funnily enough, the thin strip to which the two Joy-Cons connect makes the GameCube Joy-Cons the same width as the original GameCube WaveBird wireless controller.

Be sure to check out Shanks Mods video, which we have included below. The modder has also created three portable Nintendo consoles, called the WiiVision, PiiWii Pocket and Kill Mii, respectively. You can find those three videos on the Shank Mods YouTube channel, too.
