km5 unveils portable, wireless sound system with CD player, mixer and speaker

The km5 Cp1 CD player ($169 on Amazon) becomes an audio system with new accessories. The manufacturer has unveiled the Mp1, a mixer that is exactly the same size as the CD player itself and is available in the same colors – except for the colorful, partially transparent versions of the CD player.
The mixer can connect wirelessly to two Bluetooth audio sources, such as two Cp1 units, or a Cp1 and a smartphone. The two channels can then be mixed, with bass, midrange and treble levels each adjustable separately via a 3-band equalizer. The mix can then be transmitted to speakers or headphones via Bluetooth. The mixer is said to offer a battery life of six hours.
To complement this, km5 has also unveiled a speaker with the same dimensions as the Cp1 CD player. The km5 Sp1 could hardly look more minimalist, as the front houses only a speaker grille, while buttons for controlling playback and volume are located on the top. The speaker is equipped with two 45-millimeter full-range drivers and two passive radiators. Music can be played via Bluetooth, FM radio or a microSD card. km5 advertises a battery life of twelve hours.
Pricing and availability
The km5 Sp1 speaker and the Mp1 mixer are expected to launch in February 2027. The manufacturer has not yet confirmed any pricing details. More information on km5's latest products can be found on the manufacturer's website.
