Electro-Voice's second-generation Evolve speaker systems are now available worldwide, promising more power, smarter wireless controls, and fewer cables to trip over. With three models aimed at DJs, musicians, and event professionals, the lineup looks ready for everything from intimate performances to considerably less intimate dance floors.

Electro-Voice's second-generation Evolve portable speaker systems are now available worldwide as of October 22, 2026. First announced in September, the Evolve 30M G2, 50 G2, and 50M G2 bring updated amplification, smarter controls, and several practical improvements to the company's popular column-speaker lineup. All three models feature 1,500-watt Class-D amplification. The smaller 30M G2 combines six 2.8-inch drivers with a 10-inch subwoofer, reaching a claimed maximum output of 125 dB. Its larger siblings, the 50 G2 and 50M G2, use eight 3.5-inch drivers and 12-inch subwoofers, pushing that figure to a claimed 129 dB.

That's plenty of volume for most events, including those where guests suddenly decide the music isn't loud enough after midnight. But Electro-Voice isn't relying on raw power alone. The updated QuickSmart Mobile App 3.0 offers wireless control of multiple speakers, while new features include full-color LCD screens, improved Bluetooth connectivity, feedback suppression, and automatic music ducking. The latter lowers the background music when someone speaks into a microphone, potentially saving DJs from frantic volume adjustments during wedding speeches.

The 30M G2 and 50M G2 also include eight-channel mixers, reducing the amount of additional equipment needed. Redesigned carrying handles should make transportation easier, although stairs remain undefeated. US prices start at $1,499 for the Evolve 30M G2, rising to $1,899 for the Evolve 50 G2 and $2,299 for the Evolve 50M G2.

The extra power and smarter controls are welcome additions, but the real test will come when the speakers leave the showroom and face a crowded dance floor.
