iReader Smart X3 Pro: New tablet with Wacom technology recognizes pressure levels and comes with Android

Good e-Reader is now offering the iReader Smart X3 Pro, a new e-reader with many functions: it is effectively a tablet with an e-ink display. The model is equipped with a Carta 1300 display with a pixel density of 300 PPI, which has a resolution of 2560 x 1920 at 10.65 inches. The screen illumination can be adjusted not only in terms of brightness but also, within limits, in terms of color temperature. Only grayscale, not colors, can be displayed.

The tablet comes with a pen, which itself is supported by Wacom technology. This is used to recognize the intensity of the input, as the pen is said to be able to recognize 4,096 pressure levels and, according to the manufacturer, the position is queried 360 times per second. Palm recognition is available. The panel can be used in different operating modes at different speeds, and the selection of the appropriate operating mode can be simply chosen or partly automated.

An SoC with eight computing cores is installed, which has access to 4 GB of RAM. The 243.5 x 191 x 5.8 mm e-reader weighs 359 grams and comes with Android 11, but cannot access the Google Play Store. Nevertheless, apps can be downloaded via other stores and direct installation is also conceivable. The internal memory measures 64 GB. Lastly, WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5 are on board for wireless connectivity.

The iReader Smart X3 Pro is available for a price of $629, plus shipping costs. Customers are advised to inform themselves about the shipping process, particularly in regard to possible import fees.
